Hahaha neo - I've always said it sounds like the name of an Adam Sandler character who lives in a zoo, or something.

Great stuff. Apart from the way it is made, the idea of showing a history of deconstruction of a relationship in a would-be rom-com is brilliant.

Still, I think Zooey is a bitch. And what the fuck that name is?

Utterly loved it. Painfully honest to the point of embarassment (when Tom is smashing plates and you're wishing he'd grow up) and devastation (the park bench, the look on his face at the moment of realisation that he has to let go).
Instead of Garden State I'd say it's closer to a more cynical Amelie in the way it breaks off from reality. I loved The Seventh Seal reference and the dance routine which could have so easily been overdone.

Oh but the very last word said was stupid. Whoever wrote that needs a slap.

Aha, I think it does have an animated intro actually. Don't judge it solely on that basis!

Watching this tonight.
If it sucks, I'm hunting down any film with animated titles and blokes wearing puffy fucking coats.

Not a single nomination? What a scam.
Poor show Academy, poor show.

Not nominated for Best Picture
Not nominated for Adapted Screenplay?
Not nominated for Original Screenplay?

What the fuck is wrong with you Oscar bastards!

An interesting watch in the same vein as Eternal Sunshine yada yada. Still, the bloke is a soft sack at times and the girl is still a bitch throughout. Also, I'm really fucking tired of the same role Zooey what's her face plays. And I really hate her name and that fucking book I guess she's named after.

I mean, I pressed Post Comment, it commented, and then yesterday it was gone.
No biggie! Sure it's just my crappy wi-fi connection here.

What do you mean - you posted it but it didn't appear?

I wrote a lovely long-winded comment about how much I loved this film yesterday? Was it deemed unsuitable by modders, or does Canada hate the Shiznit?

I thought Brick was awful.
"Hey, let's use 1950's noir dialogue and plot but set it in modern highschool!!!"
"Okaaaay...and then?"
"Uh....nope, that's it. Oh, and the jug-eared kid from Witness is the villain who's wandered in from a David Lynch film!!"
"...whatever"

If you've not seen it, watch Brick. JGL is great in that. I hear he's very good in The Lookout, too.

Probably don't watch GI Joe.

loved this film, great cast, great acting, JGL reminded me of the late ledger, hes gonna get better and better, would love to see him in a more serious intense film, slightly unhappy about the new found love my gf has for him though!!

I like how it looks like JGL is staring down at these comments.

Oh Luke....Garden State should never be compared to Juno- totally different class of film!
I can maybe see how this might be compared to Garden State-both kinda indy and quirky, but as much as I love Garden State, 500 days of Summer has a lot more heart and you care about the characters more.
And Zooey rules (i know Yes Man was bad but we cant blame it on her!)

It's going to take a lot to convince people this isn't just some Juno/Garden State-esque emo boohoo fest.

And as for "Zooey" - I still haven't got the stink of Yes Man out of my hair.

Well deserves 5 stars! One of the best films Ive seen in a really long time.
To be honest I love Zooey Deschanel in anything, she could just sit in front of the camera doing nothing for 2 hours and id think she was amazing. But she was even better than usual in this, just perfect for the role, was loveable but had her faults too which just makes her even more relatable.
Joseph Gordon Levitt, was perfect which actually suprised me. He made that film.
I cant wait to see it again already!
And its the one film recently that I thought- I will actually pay money for this when it comes out on dvd rather than just download it- sign of a good film!

Cannot wait to see this, feared it might be too cutesy but you've convinced me to go and see it. But don't fuck Juno - look what happened last time.

Sounds like it'll sit nicely next to my copy of Eternal Sunshine. I'll mark it down as one to see.
