Review: An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth
Man, is this ever a hard sell: a former Presidential candidate waxes lyrical on the perils of global warming while his Powerpoint presentation plays in the background, complete with stats, graphs and - gasp - pie charts. Given a choice between this and Clerks 2 et al, the majority of moviegoers will no doubt give it a wide bert...

Aha. I can\'t listen to that song without adding that little Gore moment.

Also, let me caption the second-to-last pic of Gore. \"If I make a serious face while putting my hand under my chin, then people will think I know what I\'m talking about! Score! Instant credibility!\" They all look so concerned...how cute.

Aide: \"Vice President Gore, somebody bought a copy of your book! Gore: \"Well, this calls for a celebration.\" (Music: Celebrate good times...come on...!). \"Gore: I will.\" Classic.

Eh, I didn\'t see this movie yet. When is this \"Global Warming \" thing supposed to happen? If it\'s after I\'M dead, then why the hell should I care? I don\'t want kids, and with the annoying children running around here in the US, global warming might be a good thing, if it prevents them from taking over the world...they\'d just blow themselves up anyways, selfish, spoiled brats! Enjoy your deathtrap, ladies!

That bottom screen grab looks very much like the petrol station going up in \"21 Days Later\" :D

He\'s in Futurama more than once.

\"These are my Vice-Presidential Action Rangers\"

\"Put them way before I take them away!\"

There\'s a Futurama clip in this, too. He seems like a genuinely straight shooter, a nice guy. If Dubya had lost the election, I\'d imagine he\'d have gone back to being a drunken cowboy. Not so our Al.

Have you seen him in Futurama? Hilarious.

\"Peace out y\'all!\"

It hurts my brain thinking what he\'d be like as President. On this evidence, he\'d have been a caring, environmentally-friendly President who drove to work in a recycled car and let squirrels wander round the Oval office.

Don\'t you wish Gore had shown a bit of this genial and humourous side of his personality when he was running for President?

I still blame Ralph Nader for everything though.
