Review: Avengers Assemble

It's only been four years since Samuel L Jackson teased his way into the end of Tony Stark's movie like a fan-wetting afterthought, but it seems like anticipation for The Avengers has been setting the Internet a-buzz for far longer. Perhaps this is because, since the comic-book genre gained credibility again, we've all been waiting for the ultimate superhero crossover movie. With Avengers Assemble, we get just that - four superhero leads meeting up for one mega-blockbuster movie in a way that has never been seen before. As a result, it is the ultimate summer event movie. It also happens to be Marvel's masterpiece.

Highly entertaining and really quite funny but by no means a masterpiece. It sets everything up but all the character strands are lost when the invasion begins.

Loki Vs Hulk is bloody hilarious.

My favourite bit was when the massive robot alien flying lizard thing came along, being literally the size of a small football stadium, and the Hulk took it out by PUNCHING IT IN THE FACE.

Need a Mark Gruffalo Hulk movie next.

Oh, yeah I saw it last week. Nearly died at some of the jokes. Best superhero movie after The Dark Knight.

Saw it this afternoon and I bloody loved it. The cinema was full of young kids who laughed and whooped at some of the better moments and it only added to the fun.
