Darren Aronofsky returns with his follow up to The Wrestler, and... um... Did I just see Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis making out in that trailer? (*swoon*)
Is this just now coming out in the UK? Geez, if I wasn't so goddam lazy I could have typed up a review for you a month ago. Your early reviews would surely put you over the top for Best Overall Film Blog.
I was the complete opposite, enjoyed everything until the final act, where it just turned into major silliness for me.
Without spoiling, was a tense pyschological drama before then but danced into complete camp guignol nonsense.
And Barbara Hershey has ruined her face with plastic surgery, now she has that bizarre cat-face they all have.
Seems to be a bit Lynch-ian. The story from what little I can tell has a Mulholland Dr. feel to it. Aronofsky hasn't done much wrong, so I hope this is good too.
Also.....she's totally flicking the bean on her bed near the end of the trailer, right?
I'm with Luke -- the bit when her reflection turned on her is what made me go, ah, cool, you may have something for me other than the lesbian goodness and my girlcrush on Portman. Plus, pulling a black feather out of an open sore on your back -- what girl hasn't done that!
I do, Luke. I'm also a fan of The Red Shoes, and thought Altman's The Company was kind of decent. I cannot wait for this one...the trailer is creepy and great, and I'm a big fan of Suspiria, so anything along those lines is okay by me.
God, this trailer really switches up halfway through. At first I was like "Right, ballet, yep, uh-huh, more ballet, right" and then I was all like "Ooh, weird stuff, psychological, lesbianism, cool" and then I ended with "holy shit, WTF, wow".
Aronofsky? Vincent Cassel? I'm there. Well, I mean I'll buy the blu-ray when it's released.
Aronofsky can do no wrong for me, and yes I'm the bloke that bought The Fountain on dvd.
And Cassel is fantastic, still have a Gallic hardon for Mesrine so that just makes it for me.
I guess I'll just force myself to sit through lesbian antics that appear throughout.
