Review: Bunny And The Bull

Bunny And The Bull
Sex with dogs. Giant stuffed bears. Crab racing. Bulls made of shopping trolleys. Sucking milk from the teats of puppies. On the one hand, Google-bait for an avalanche of weirdos; on the other, just a few of the oddities to be found in Bunny And The Bull, a bizarre road movie from director Paul King, the visualist behind cult UK comedy The Mighty Boosh. Needless to say, like drinking dog milk, it's not for everyone.

I don't think I could say I really enjoyed it, I liked it for what it was - showing off in an artsy way. Didn't care for the characters so the story meant nothing, but I was quite prepared to go along with it and soak in the nice visuals. Not what a proper film is made of, really, but still entertaining in its own way.

Just saw this, nice way to spend a rainy Sunday. Loved the homemade visual effects, very creative way of getting the most out of a limited budget. Bunny was a pain in the ass but liked Steven, partly because Edward Hogg is from Doncaster, which makes him a local(ish) for me, being a Sheffielder. South Yorkshire rules ok! The whole thing felt like a series of sketches cobbled together by a fairly flimsy premise though. Definitely a case of style over substance.
