Depp to jump ship on Pirates 4?
Johnny Depp looks set to say 'yo ho...no' to the proposed fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie after news that Disney Chairman Dick Cook has had to stand down/been fired/been made to walk the plank. More forced pirate-related metaphors after the jump.

Then I have seen it. If I was a kid I'd be going nuts for it.

Yup. And the Pirate Council with Keith Richards heading them, and the maelstrom and Tiadama going mental.

Actually, I don't think I've seen the last one. Did it have the Kraken in it?

They should make the movie version of George McDonald-Fraser's "Pyrates".
That's an awesome book, think "The Princess Bride" satire style but with pirates.

This seem like a perfect opportunity for the long awaited screen return of Steve the Pirate.

Bloom and Knightley both won't be in it. And neither will Depp, apparently.

It's Jack Davenport's time to shine, baby!

I liked them a lot, the 3rd one least of all but still had excellent moments.
Could do with a *lot* less of Bloom & Kneightly though, didn't care about their story arc or the characters at all.
If Pirates 4 is just Depp staggering about a ship with Barbosa "har-harrr"ing then I'll be happy

They're enjoyable enough romps, even if the last two just blend into each other. The effects are incredible.

I won't shed too many tears over this. Once you make a bloated, SFX-heavy, $200m blockbuster like the last Pirates, there's not really anywhere else to go.
