Review: Due Date

Due Date
A straight-laced businessman and chunky oddball are thrown together in unlikely circumstances to travel across the country in order to get home for a special event. What is this, 1988? While the concept may be the same, the outcome isn't. Trains, Planes and Automobiles this ain't.

I kinda liked this, but then again, I like everything with RDJ in it.

I watched this recently too and that was probably my favourite lines. Like you say, inoffensive, kinda funny, but ultimately a bit contrived.

On the basis of this, I don't hold much hope for The Hangover 2 recapturing the magic of the original.

I kinda liked this. Pretty bland, inoffensive stuff, but it made me laugh out loud about a dozen times, which is probably the watermark for a comedy like this. Bit predictable and contrived but enjoyable enough if in the right mood.

"That's Shakespeare. Do you even know who that is?"
"Yes. He's a famous pirate. And it's Shakesbeard."

Just got back from watching this and Paranormal activity 2 back to back, pretty odd combo but hey the films fit...

Really enjoyed the film, easy to watch, light hearted and a little emotion thrown in...they have a great 'bromance' and a few scenes had be in stiches, especially trying to get to sleep in the car...come on we've all been there!

Steve Martin and John Candy they are not, and also Planes Trains etc this film is not, however its great fun and stopped me looking over my shoulder every few minutes. 3 stars easy!

It was almost a 3 star. On leaving the cinema I was thinking 3, but the more I reflected on it, the poorer it seemed. I wanted to enjoy it, which ultimately made it more disappointing.

I do hold a line used toward the end, "what are you, a girl or something" which I thought was really effective.

In fact it would have been 3 stars if they didn't do the whole Mexico thing, and the subsequent guy love between two guys.
