It's been a slow news week thus far, so respected international news agency Reuters just made up some shit about the "eerie links" between the life of Osama Bin Laden and Harry Potter.
That's what's so outstanding about it. I can literally think of two dozen more interestings things to write about at the moment, and not one of them relates a fictional wizard to an actual terrorist.
"When Harry and Voldemort actually finally come face-to-face in the Battle of Hogwarts, in the books' chronology the date is really May 2, 1998"
So forgetting, the actual date similarity/discrepancy, there's still the 13-year difference to account for too?
Best bit though:
"Just as Voldemort was shaped by his mother's death and his father's abandonment, Osama was shaped by his personal struggle between Western pleasures and Islamic discipline"
So...no similarity there at all then? That's like saying "Just as I had spaghetti bolognese for my tea last night, Osama dined out on the flesh of young virgin brides." But don't you see - we both ate something.
