Review: Iron Man

Iron Man
There's now a very clear sliding scale on which any new superhero movies must be placed before they're pushed into production. At one end is the candy-coloured, day-glo fluff of the Fantastic Four, while at the other is the dark and brooding sincerity of Batman Begins. In other words, you're either in it for the money, or you'r...

Reasonably decent, no more, no less. Can't say I really care about watching the 2nd film but might give it a go if I've nothing else to watch.

Saw this last night - enjoyed it. Maybe leaned a little too far to the perfecting of the suit rather than villainous threat, but good nonetheless.

Don't lie -- you love thinking about it, especially when I wear my James Marsden mask.

I dread to think how raging your geek boner is, Tim.

I saw this for the third time today and it's still brilliant. I think I ought to stop now and wait for the extras-laden DVD.

Yeah, I noticed but it wasn't bad. At least he only said 'American cheeseburger' and not 'tasty flame-grilled Whopper'. If Michael Bay had directed this, the suit would have been covered in logos. And it would have been called Adidas Man.

I notice Burger K!ng added some product placement... it's not bad... but still *slightly* sanitised. Better than any superhero movie since.. Superman II, I reckon.

You've got all the talent and good looks that Downey Jr has... if only they'd give you a shot!

Haha, imagine answering your door to be greeted with me in an exoskeleton laden with weapons ... "Ali, about those cripple jokes ..."

I like to think of Tim as our own Iron Man.

What's great about this film is very similar to what was great about Batman Begins. The hero is very vulnerable - even in the last battle he's still flying about all over the place, smashing into things and being a berk.

I've had a boner for this film since the first glimpse of the teaser trailer. Don't know when I'll get to see it though ...
