Except it would be a smash-cut to an animated still of Orson Welles, voiceover saying "This is The Fatman, 'e knows all there is to know about fakkin' films. Wot 'e don't know ain't wurf knowing" before it returns to normal speed with James Brown over the soundtrack.
Ritchie is a one-trick mockney pony.
Imagine Jamie Oliver, but instead of tomatoes and sausages he loved The Long Good Friday & Tony Scott.
Yes, Kubrick's quote was regarding the book that the film is based on but I still thought it was more than a little weird having his name pop up.
Plus, just because he liked the book shouldn't mean that now, 11 years after his death, he can be used as a marketing tool for the film. That's like Guy Ritchie promoting his last film by quoting Orson Welles as saying "I've always been a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes".
That trailer is nowhere near as nasty as the 1st one, shows a bit
more of the ploy as opposed to Affleck wailing on Alba for 30secs.
But they show Affleck being marched down a prison corridor? Way to show everything, trailer people.
