LittleBigPicture: new TV column! This week, new Who and Frost lost
Hello there Shizniteers. You're probably wondering what I'm doing here and what this new post is all about. Why, you're asking, am I reading a blog that's not about films, or film-related news? On top of that shocker, this lunatic appears to be talking in the fourth person and about TV. What in the name of Edgar Wright is going on?

Forgot about this, and I meant to have a moan. I've been with my girlfriend for over 10 years, and she's been grade 8 clarinet for over half of that time. That's a lot of high-pitched squealing. See why I'm sick of it now?

To be fair, she had had to put up with me all that time, but I make a slightly less whiney sound.

I both love 30 Rock, and play the clarinet.

You're dead to me.

It's the comedy clarinet. Makes my spine shudder.

You are wrong. 30 Rock is fantastic. Clearly your sense of humour is broken.

Apparently not liking 30 Rock is a crime against humanity. But it's so fucking annoying!!!

You're really not helping the cause Lukester.

Although I've had the fourth episode of The Pacific sitting about, but y'know...yawn. How they've managed to cock it up is beyond me but it's so, so, so boring.

I don't think I even caught one second of TV this weekend. Success at last! I hate it so.

I've just watched episode twho (which won't be in this week's thing) and I love Amy Pond. She's.... better than Rose! Less co-depenedant, less lowest common chavno-menator.

Team Pond! Team Bullock!

The CGI when they're walking around the V ships makes me feel severely ill though. Curse...you...blue screen!

I feel a little sad-- I'm in the US, so I don't get to see Brit TV unless it's on BBC America... and they don't give us much to work with. On Showtime, at least, I get to see the Tudors, but the last true UK shows I watched were the Young Ones and Ab Fab (both hilarious).

Nice article, Kirsty-- I'm interested to know what you think of V. I'm hooked.

It didn't make my final draft, but I did want to mention that Matt Smith is the male SJP - sometimes beautiful, sometimes an alien foot face.

I do. I am very free.

Thanks for the feedback, both positive and ... well, expected.
I mostly watch US TV being as I live in Canada, so there will probably be more North American tv-related chatter. I couldn't not write about Who though. It's one of my main raisons d'etre.

I've seen V, seen all of Glee, and I mostly watch Bones.
You can't please all of the people all of the time, and frankly my dears I don't give a damn.

Obligatory smiley face.

Like I said. It's one TV post a week, hardly a "mishmash of everything". Not planning on doing any games or music stuff on this site, there'll be the correct times and places for that, and ultimately TV too.

This doesn't change the 'brand' of the site. It's still about movies. But we figured that most people who watch movies watch TV, and we like writing about TV, so it seems obvious.

I like bears.
They are a highly adaptable ursine mammal & capable of both urban & wild existence.
Bears are great.

"So how long till the music & videogame sections."

Naturally we have plans to expand - which some users are already aware of - but it won't affect this site in the slightest. Sorry for trying to be successful!

Yeah, even though I don't watch that much tv, nice feature to have on the site.

I actually wiki'd the last episode of Frost, thus eliminating the need to watch the entire series.

And The Pacific has been a pile of cliched, trite shite so far. I stole those words from someone else, but it's the best summation so far.

Can't wait for the Eastenders round-up or the nail-biting conclusion to Celebrity Facebiting.

So how long till the music & videogame sections.

I'm actually really happy to see this as a regular feature on the site. When I'm not watching and criticising flicks, I'm watching my weekly dose of US television....which is a lot of programmes.

As such, this is the first I've heard of Frost retiring but I enjoyed the Dr Who write-up. I loved the first episode of the new series on Saturday.

Looking forward to next week's opinion on V.

You'll be commenting on the latest video game crazes next.

Good article nonetheless!

It'll be one post a week. I'm sure you can handle it.

In a world where every piece of media can be disseminated and shared almost immediately around the world and viewed on a single platform, the barriers between film, television and game are becoming more and more blurred. Each of these art forms benefits from each other, and each should be recognised and placed within the context of the other.

Basically - I, just like most people in the world, am as interested in film as I am television, music or books, and I'm happy to read about all these things on one site, especially if it's written as intelligently and humorously as the above article.

Cheers,
C x

You have an article on "A Touch Of Frost"?

Dear lord.

Also, thank you for refreshing my hatred of "Open All Hours"

Simply reading the youtube video title was enough to bring it all back.

Nope, didn't see any of them. To be honest the only time I watch the TV anymore is for the football and Archer (tonight on Fiver).

I agree with what's said below and in addition, I'd say that films have universal appeal whereas TV is more centralised. You're only isolating those who aren't from the UK with articles on UK TV, which really isn't worth writing home about anyway.

TV news?

I edited my post so as not to cause offence to the writer, but c'mon...not a wise choice to branch into tv news or music or games. There are a million sites that spread themselves
too thin.

Stick to being The Shiznit, not faux IGN.
