It's confirmed: everyone's favourite brawling, sexist, drunk gambling addict is coming back to the big screen on 9 November 2012 to beat up women and bed henchmen. No wait...
Nolan hadn't done an action film until Batman Begins, and despite some of the fighting being cut a little too flashy it was very solid.
QoS (is that what we're calling it these days?) was garbage, utter garbage, didn't have a clue who was shooting/chasing/fighting who. Casino Royale is still the best Bond Film of the last 20 years and not just because you could actually see what was going on.
Eh. The man's never directed an action movie in his life. (Road To Perdition doesn't count). Same problem with Quantum Of Solace - they hired a guy best known for drama and anything faster than 2mph was a fucking mess.
Not to say he won't be any good at it, mind. Just saying. I'm quite looking forward to it, to be honest. At least there's no Bourne around for him to rip off any more.
Mendes being confirmed gives me faith that this won't be a QoSesque abomination and that we might get back to Bond as a person instead of a cockend/borderline psycho.
