Review: Rachel Getting Married

Rachel Getting Married
Anyone who has recently been stung by the nasty little wasp that was Bride Wars may approach another Hathaway wedding flick with understandable caution. Fear not, because Rachel Getting Married is poles apart from that hollow bitch-a-thon and demonstrates what Anne Hathaway is capable of when presented with a decent and challeng...

Just seen this, enjoyed it (if that's the right term to use). Not a 'wedding movie' by any means, but a slightly seedy, voyeuristic insight into a dysfunctional family and the dynamics within. Nice to see Hathaway in a non-sympathetic role - almost good enough to forgive Bride Wars. Almost.

I'm supposed to see this soon, but ugh, I really don't want to.
I like Hathaway, she's a class act and pretty lady, but there's nothing about Rachel Getting Married that makes me want to part with my hard-earned (hah) beer tokens.

Bangkok Dangerous Poster - glorious. What's IN his shoulderpad? More invisible weaponry? A comb for that syrup on his head? Further black and white fireworks?
What?!

They should have called it Rachel Getting Airbrushed. Or Rachel Getting Double-Teamed, if they really wanted to sell some tickets.

I love that Cage poster like my own son. It's like he's scratching his armpit... in bullet-time! In some lava and broken glass.

Ahaha, is it Nicolas Cage and his dangerous arthritic hand kung-fu?
They've just airbrushed a pistol haven't they? And done nothing with the image afterwards.

But yeah, Rachel Getting Married.
Nope, Oscar nom not withstanding, I'll never watch this

Yep, it's pretty awful. Someone just learned how to use Gaussian Blur!

It's not as bad as this one.

Is it just me, or is that an absolutely terrible movie poster?

I just can't force any interest in this. Not the film's fault, but I've been forcefed so many awful, awful wedding movies in the past that my brain just closes down on me - despite knowing it's not another rom-com wedding film. Even the poster & title causes brain. stop. to.

I quite fancied seeing this (seeing as I quite fancy Anne Hathaway) but none of the cinemas round my way i.e. London were showing it. Yet Underworld 3 was showing in every one I checked. Odd.
