Review: Shine A Light

Shine A Light
Martin Scorsese's long-running love affair with music - first cemented with The Last Waltz, confirmed with Bowie's best ever role in After Hours and the Dylan documentaries - becomes flesh with Shine A Light. Ostensibly a recording of a Rolling Stones concert in New York, Shine A Light is actually an unwitting comedy classic. ...

Don't think there's an album, but I might be wrong. Plus the tour it documents finished ages ago, so it's not like a promo piece. Think of it of a HD eulogy for Keith Richards, who surely only has about three weeks to live.

I still haven't heard "Brown Sugar", and I was in a band that covered it.

What is this, a documentary, or a big promo for a new album?

Stella Street totally ruined Mick Jagger for me. It's how I think of him and Keith during downtime, running a rock and roll corner shop and arguing over the price of eggs.

I can picture him sidling up to a young lady in a bar and saying in that voice " ay, wanna see my todger? It looks exactly like I do, but wiv grey hair" whislt Keef stumbles around growling "I'm Keith fuggin' Richards", Charlie Watts is silently smug and Ronnie Wood keeps reminding random patrons who he is

In many ways, Mick Jagger is creepy elderly uncle of the nation. Being humped by him would like being ravaged by Mumm-Rah.

They're absolute caricatures of themselves, but who gives a fuck when it's The Rolling Stones. I knew I was going to steal this from the internet the moment I saw the trailer and Keef spits the cigarette out against the spotlight.
Mick Jagger upsets me though, he's like an elderly uncle at a wedding who dances too close and slow with a bridesmaid with his shirt collar unbuttoned.

Never been the biggest Stones fan, but really getting into them as I get older (and new music becomes more and more confusing) so I'd like to see this. Figure it's like going to a Stones concert but without the effort. Would have been cool if it was in 3D, but not sure if I want to see Jagger's bare waist or thrusting pelvis in that much detail.
