Review: Shrek Forever After

Shrek Forever After
Shrek has been the flagship franchise of DreamWorks Animation for nigh on a decade now, constantly pulling at the coat tails of Pixar like a child desperate to be listened to. But after the underwritten, overflowing Shrek The Third failed to live up to the first two, DreamWorks may have thought about milking another potential franchise dry and retiring this old ogre back to his muddy puddle.

I think you've answered your own question there. There's an age comedians get to when they must just think, fuck this, from now on, I eat, sleep on and wipe my arse with only money from now on.

Apart from the £/$, why have there been 4 of these films?
Myers doing his Scottish accent that he's done in *every single film he's made* and Eddie Murphy gleefully urinating on his legacy.
How the fuck do you go from Trading Places, Coming to America and Beverly Hills Cop to voicing an ass and doing films that even Steve Martin won't touch now.

Suit 1 - Shrek 4 made a billion dollars. Get started on a 5th script

Suit 2 - But we said we blatantly said wouldn't make anymore. Our whole ad campaign was based on that.

Suit 1 - I know

But this is 'The Final Chapter'! Hollywood wouldn't lie!

Nope, I will not be paying to see this one, regardless of how good the reviews are. Shrek the 3rd was an abomination and I'm not giving them anymore money or encouragement to make a 5th film.

"...Deuce Bigalow director Mike Mitchell takes the reins for Shrek's final outing"

That right there is why I find myself sometimes standing still in the street wondering if I'm in my own particular, sadistic version of "The Truman Show".
Shrek 4 directed by the guy who brought you Deuce Bigalow.

Surely that can't *actually* be something nature would allow?

Eh. I quite enjoyed the original Shrek, back when maybe 3-4 animated films came out a year. But even by Shrek 2 I was getting bored. Jokes about Simon Cowell that were dated and embarrassed even then. Didn't bother with the third but might be persuaded to see this.
