Welcome to small town Iowa, where everyone owns a farm, the police wear jeans, there are cornfields aplenty, and baseball games are rudely interrupted by maniacal hillbillies wielding shotguns. Oh, and it's probably best to take your own water, too.
Quite enjoyable and a better Romero remake than Dawn of the Dead or * Shudder * Day of the Dead.
Not a massive fan of the "government fuckup" angle and I deeply disliked that it was introduced so early on with the satellites monitoring everything but that's my only real complaint, though those damn crazies did keep turning up at the most inconvenient times, only to get shot at the last minute.
Land was better than people give it credit for, I prefer it to Day.
I really disliked Diary when it came out but I watched it on DVD a few weeks ago and didn't hate it anywhere near as much. It's still the worst of the 5 though.
Saw this last night, pretty much what I was expecting - polished standard zombie fare, acceptable Friday night stuff but essentially the exact same movie I've seen 50 times in the last five years. Do like Olpyhant though, he's cool.
Seriously, there must be four separate occasions where the guy and his wife enter a new building, only to forget to check for Crazies AND split up in the process. Durrr. Learn your lesson, asshats.
Deadwood... just the thought of that show brings a tear to my eye. Best TV ever-- gave me a whole new vocabulary and made me want to open my own saloon/brothel/gambling den. Damn that HBO for cancelling it. Damn them to hell.
