The Superman Project

The Superman Project
You may or may not have seen the first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman from The Man Of Steel this week. Here it is. I won't be looking at it, or anything-else Superman-related for that matter, until its release in 2013, as part of a self-enforced Kryptonian diet – an experiment to experience a blockbuster knowing as little about it as possible.

Good luck with this Ali.
I did the same kind of thing earlier this year with X-Men : First Class and it was worth it. Initially I planned to avoid seeing anything about it but it became impossible to avoid seeing stills and those piss poor pieces of promotion.
In the end I did mange to see the movie without glimpsing a single moving image beforehand. I even had to go as far as covering my eyes like a pleb when the trailer popped up before a showing of Thor.
Once I saw the film I went back to the trailers and was quite surprised at how much they actually gave away. I'm likely wrong but I would assume that with Nolan involved, the promotion for Superman may be a bit more controlled.
I did a blog thing about it but I don't know how to add links and that. Here goes... Click Here Link opens in new window

edit: Yay! It worked.

This is such a good idea I may just join in. Then tell my friends about it and pass it off as my own idea... THANK YOU INTERNET.

Great idea. Don't think you gonna make it, tho. Do you have what it takes? I mean, TWO YEARS PROJECT?!11

Btw, I already tried it. Don't laugh at me but it was... Transformers 2. Of course, the whole point there was not to see the special effects best of which usually were used in the trailers. And it happened once or twice that I was shown the trailer before some film at the cinema and I had to shut my eyes and ears. Anyways, my project was successful in terms of being done. Unfortunately, the film still was a pile of crap. But seeing all the massive effects for the first time on the big screen was very pleasant and worthwhile.

I will keep my fingers crossed to manifest solidarity (whatever it means), but of course my solidarity ends there. I will watch all Superman related stuff, and no..., not because I want to annoy you. On the other hand...

This is actually a great idea, what I've been trying to do for ages. But what happens if you're in the cinema in 2012/2013 and the trailer comes on?

You'll have to carry a pair of these around: http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lgu0zldMxM1qavsh3o1_500.gif Minus the laughing and mobile-wielding version of NPH.

Matt, we can write stuff in public that he can't read. Can't wait - we're going to do 157 stories this week alone.
