Thor! Thor! THOR!

Thor! Thor! THOR!
In which Kenneth Branagh, cunning linguist and Shakespeare mouthpiece, resorts to showcasing topless hunks and telling Facebook jokes. This thucks.

Yeah, this can't be worse than Indy 4, that's something positive I guess.

All good points.

How many knuckles does Thor have in that banner picture? How is he holding that hammer up?

It's freaking me out.

See, I wasn't bothered about the aliens in Indy 4 (shit film that it is) because he's already found the arc of the covenant, the holy grail and the sankara stones.

They're all fiction anyway. ;D

I was way more bothered about he fridge and the beefs tarzan ability. Oh, and surviving going over three waterfalls.

Jesus. What an appalling film.

Suppose they could fight the Hulk, it's a good way of not having Edward Norton in it.

Anyway, whether Iron Man is realistic or not, it's unrealistic to have demons etc in it. Though not as bad as having aliens/inter-dimensional beings in an Indiana Jones film, it's still pretty weird.

I don't know comic books, but now that we know the 'Realistic' world of Iron Man, the 'Rewrite history' world of Captain America, the 'Remake' world of the Hulk and 'Fantasy' world of Thor will all smash into each other in 'The Avengers', the question is: Who will they all fight?

Ok, it's an enchanted robot.

That's no robot.
It's The Destroyer, an enchanted suit of armor forged by Odin, inanimate until imbued by the life-force of a sapient living being.

The difference between science-fiction and fantasy, surely.

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Arthur C. Clarke, "Profiles of The Future", 1961

I'm not really bothered about the movie (looks average) but I can't see how a transform-a-briefcase, flying robot suit that shoots forces out of it's hands with full on board AI is any more realistic than what's being presented here.

No, it bothers me too. Iron Man was realistic in that even though it used ridiculous technology, there were no such things as frost demons or intergalactic vikings or space popes. Looks to me like it's being written off with the "magic and science are the same thing!" line. Can't even begin to describe how wrong that is...

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that this is meant to be in the same world as the (semi) realistic Iron Man films? (we'll see how stupid Captain America is soon enough)

Can you picture Downey Jr using his palm of death against one of these Hellboy castoffs?
