Yeah, Ali - I can't believe you didn't include scenes from a film that came out two years after you wrote this. Idiot.

The battle of Eowyn Vs. The Witch King in Lord of the Rings is my favorite one in the movie. The battle is not something to be missed.

One of the best fight scenes ever was omitted: The scene in Eastern Promises, where Viggo Mortensen, totally nude in a large spa, fights off a knife-wielding assassin.

Great list! I agree with a previous comment about Troy v. Hector being included in my top fight scene list. I would also have the fight between Brad and Angelina in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", Blade (Wesley) and Novak (Luke) in "Blade 2", and Riddick (Vin) v. Lord Marshall (Colm) in "Chronicles of Riddick". You should also check out Channing Tatum in his new movie "Fighting". There's a pretty good battle between him and Brian White at the end.

What about the final fight scene in Jackie Chan's Who Am I?
On the building......it's awesome.

I think the big satellite dish falling on Sean Bean lands squarely in the 'JOO GOT OWNED' category of overkill - a list I really must write up soon.

Bond vs Janus.
In the satellite dish in "Goldeneye"

After years of Roger Moore's "judo CHOP" fight scenes - it was refreshing to see Pierce Brosnan trading blows with Sean Bean - like they meant it. Brutal & fast and not a nerve-gas laser watch in sight.

No Resident Evil will ever be there.

The absolute best fight scene comes from "True Romance".
Apparently no one has ever watched Patricia Arquette(Alabama) vs
James Gandolfini(Virgil) get it on in that movie.
Truly a fight worthy of the top ten of your list.

Hm...Ok list, kind of disappointing (how could you forget From dusk till dawn?! Juliette lewis and George clooney kicked ass)but not too bad overall.

Commando is a glorious movie.

I love this fight, especially for the magnificent punch just after the dry fire. Also, when Arnold "jumps" through the glass at the end. Well, by "jump" I mean "sort of falls on"

If I had remembered, the puppet fight from Team America would be in there too.

Yeah, I don't really like the Pirates fights. Too much Orlando Bloom and too silly. Also, Hot Fuzz is a gunfight, which isn't allowed (Indy gets in on merit and Equilibrium is 'gunkata', fact fans).

Bugger. Nice "list"

Boohoo. You missed Pirates o'th' Caribbean 2 fight scene with a water-wheel.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, the final showdown. I don't care it's not very actiony, the music, the feel of it, the whole thing is fantastic. You can stick your multiple Smith disorders up your arse, all I thought right through it was 'CGI, CGI, CGI'

I kept waiting for the last scene in Predator to show up. Or for god's sake at least the raid on the camp. Some of these were a little of (Jurassic Park III), but there were a good amount I think should be on this list.

Army Of Darkness? Nope, that's Ash versus Evil Ash - good, but not as good as a man smashing crockery over his own head before cutting his hand off with a chainsaw, laughing maniacally.

#5 is from Army of Darkness.

And honestly...the best fight scenes come from this summers non-hit hit...Shoot Em Up with Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti. That whole movie was full of insane fight scenes....great list though.

And yes, we cannot forget Yoda vs Count Dooku in Episode 2. That fight settled a bet that I had with a Star Wars nerd about whether or not Yoda could use a lightsaber. He seemed to use it quite effectively. The Star Wars nerd lost the bet.

Glad you used the Wolverine bit from X2 instead of the other climactic battle - Xmen vs A Dam.

What about John McClane vs Karl in Die Hard? That is above all my favorite fight scene in any movie. Alexander Gudenov (Karl) was a Russian ballet dancer who defected to the US. Those kicks that he keeps throwing are not martial arts, they're ballet. Who'd a thunk ballet could look so cool??

Obviously the list is subjective etc etc.
But I can't believe you missed out Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - Mark Hamill vs Jay & Bob?? Cocknocker with a bongsaber saying "Never fuck with a Jedi"? That's gold right there. And fuck the new Star Wars movies, they don't count as anything other than CGI wanktitty. Props for the Gladiator scene, even today that makes me want to batter ruffians with a sword and spit on the floor afterwards.
