Review: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon
Though I've still not quite recovered from giving Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen four stars upon release – both from the kicking I got in the comments and the subsequent shock when I rewatched it in horror on DVD – I am still very much in the broad demographic targeted by Michael Bay and the Transformers franchise: people who like to see shit getting blown up. We are a proud, simple people.

I think my friend Liam summed this film up best by saying, "It's a piece of shit, but it's piece of shit with a lot of fiber in it."

Saw it at the IMAX, blew my little socks off. Bit disturbed by the human looking Einstein robot (er, yeah, did he REALLY need a human looking skull and hair?) and the new girlfriend was literally Megan Fox's character with a "find and replace" done on her name and one or two lines about her dumping Sam thrown in. Entire film could've been done without her, poor girl.

Oddly, I've never really associated these films with the cartoon series.

It's misplaced nostalgia Goatboy. Simple as that.

I really don't understand these films or the need for them.

As superb as it looks, I'm still laughing at how ineffective the autobots are in the final battle scene. There's about 6 humans who do all the fucking work! It's like "Hey, what do we even need you robot guys for anyway?"
