Why I Hate... M. Night Shyamalan

Why I Hate... M. Night Shyamalan
With the release of his latest movie Lady In The Water on DVD, our generation's sub-Hitchcock is once again generating column inches. Critics have not been kind - "boring" say some, "career-threateningly catastrophic" says another - but I don't need to see it to know that it's a sickly sweet tale of morality about man and the s...

If his career trajectory continues in it's current direction he'll be directing adverts for Iceland by the end of the year.

Lady in the Water was just on. I wasn't really watching it as I'm at work, it was just on in the background. What I saw was awful, and I'm not sure it made any sense. It was not even enjoyable in a way that The Happening is.

His career is still a mystery. Going almost instantly into directing Willis, Sam Jackson, Mel Freakin' Gibson - even Ron Howard's daughter in The Village is a pretty big thing, check out how powerful Richie Cunningham is in Hollywood, you'll be amazed. Who does/did he know to get that before being outed as the terrible hack he is?

There's an extra on one of the DVDs that makes me laugh so hard - a scary film about a robot he made before Signs, but it's the sort of thing littered about YouTube by college students. If you pause the video you can see the exact moment his credibility shatters.

I've always said I'll give him another chance, bt this new film may as well be The Legend of Chun Li 2.

I will never waste another second in life watching a movie made by him. I am a very big fan of "The Last Airbender" series. The way he cast this movie makes me want to smash his head into a brick wall.

I am making it my personal business to make sure everyone I know doesn't spend one cent on this movie.

I will tell him this to his face. M. Knight Shamascam should be slapped.

Well even so I am still looking forward to seeing his next movie "the last airbender."

With having Brian and Mike helping him write the script it should be pretty good

Oh man I think you are right! What a blow-hard! I admit I did not think much of this movie. The idea of narfs was pretty sickening.

But yes, I can see how he might be trying to protray himself as Jesus. What a joke! Even his name attempts to do that doesn't it?

LOL doesn't the bible say something about a theif in the night or something?

Signs is perhaps one of the worst films I have ever seen.

I didn\'t even bother with The Villiage and Unbreakable is about a quarter of a film.

He\'s got a good eye, but sadly the rest is lacking. Sixth Sense I enjoyed, Unbreakable was a different take on the Superhero mythos, The Village I vaguly enjoyed (regardless of knowing almost immediately what the twist would be, specifically as the Village is so far removed from any realism it *had* to be (insert spolier twist ending here))

He makes undemanding movies, most of the time where it\'s more fun spotting the plot holes. His mighty ego is in meltdown however.

Also, \"The Village sucked - it made me ashamed to wear yellow\" is one of the funniest things we\'ve ever had on this site.

Hmmm, easy target. Because he\'s a bit shit. If there\'s anyone who didn\'t figure out The Village after 2 minutes, they should be added to the \"Movie Retards\" article.

For the record, I thought Sixth Sense was alright, Unbreakable was ace (couldn\'t watch it twice though) and even Signs was good, until the ending. The more I thought about it, the angrier it made me.

Didn\'t bother with The Village or Lady in the Water, would maybe watch them if they were on TV and I needed something to do while I killed myself.
