Why I Love... Vin Diesel

Why I Love... Vin Diesel
Although it pains me to say it, times have changed since the glory days of the 80's, when Arnie and Sly were kings of all they surveyed. Our mobile phones have got smaller, our jacket sleeves have been reluctantly rolled down and we're only allowed to enjoy Duran Duran in an 'ironic' way. Saddest of all, our action heroes are,...

I like Vin Diesel. He\'s mean and has a cool voice and shoots guns. Winnar.

A D&D playing computer nerd fanboy, incredibly passionate about *whatever* movie he's appearing in? What's not to like?

Oh and a voice that can strip paint.

i liked pitch black and Chronicles of riddick, i think he\'s pretty good on the whole and worthy of taking over from arnie,

the pacifer is definatly a movie that arnie would have done, i mean just look at kindergarden cop and thats fantastic.

riddick didn\'t do too badly at the box office really.

Quite worringly, Vin has earned himself a place in my girlfriend\'s \"10 Celebrities I\'m Allowed To Shag And Not Get Dumped\" list.

Haven\'t seen knockaround guys, but he was good in Saving Private Ryan. Just think how different things might have been had his more serious work taken off though...

And for the record, \"The Pacifier\" looks like a work of genius, and further proof of his \"New Arnie\" tag. Hmmm, perhaps I should have mentioned that in the article.

Knockaround Guys is well worth a look. Barry Pepper, Seth Green, Vin Diesel & some other bloke have to retrieve a bag of money belonging to Dennis Hopper before anybody realises it\'s been mislaid. And Tom Noonan is a scary sheriff. I absolutely love Pitch Black and thought Chronicles was enjoyable tosh, confused by Dame Judi Dench\'s presence though.

I like Vin well enough, even though his movies are mostly crap. I unabashedly love Pitch Black and The Iron Giant, I dig Saving Private Ryan, and Chronicles of Riddick is a guilty pleasure. xXx was worth one watch, but that\'s about it. I\'ve skipped just about everything else he\'s done, though, and I don\'t feel like I\'m really missing out on anything. Especially in the case of The Pacifier. Yeesh.

I actually think he\'s a decent actor, didn\'t realise he was in Saving Private Ryan till after Chronicles of Riddick. And Knockaround Guys is good, possibly because it has Dennis Hopper & John Malkovich in.
That recent one where he plays a Commando Babysitter looks bowel-looseningly bad though.
And he\'s certainly not a bummer, not at all. Nope. Glad we cleared that up.
