By now, every good movie nerd knows that it's not easy to strike the perfect balance between humour and horror, and the list of films that do it well is depressingly short. Well, now you can add Zombieland to the list.
Highly enjoyable, well written, at around 80 minutes though it's far too short. The cameo is brilliant and I'm looking forward to a sequel and more Zombie Kills of The Week.
You wrote a review? You write reviews? You should have said, I've been agonising over doing this bloody thing for days now. Anyway, Zombieland rules and the Up review is finished and on the homepage now.
This fucker just told me who the cameo is, I had to slap him before he said something about this "Line" that follows it.
I'm hoping to see this tonight, saw Up last week instead (and had a review written until Ali said his was coming). I keep thinking that girl is Mila Kunis
I really liked this, actually. Was expecting a good laugh and wasn't disappointed. Really reminded me of Dead Rising - for some reason the zombie coming out of the toilet with loo paper stuck on his foot really made me laugh. Whole thing was very videogamey, in fact, with 'Zombie Kill of the Week' etc.
Sequel should be great, apparently Zombieland was planned as a 12 part mini-series so there's plenty more material to work with.
@Luke. Probably not. It'll upset a lot of people as this isn't a closed site.
I really enjoyed it. An uplifting zombie movie with some great sequences and jokes. Not life changing, but a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday evening.
Mildly entertaining with a few laugh-out-loud moments. Good stuff. The genre is totally played-out but the people were believable enough to make it worth watching.
And the cameo, oh the cameo it was wonderful. My favourite part is the deadpan delivery by the girl at the end. Can we talk about who it was yet?
I'm planning on going to the cinema tomorrow night to see Up, if that happens to be sold out (which is highly likely) Zombieland will be my substitute. I've been waiting to see this since I saw the trailer before Let The Right One In.
