16 stupidest X Factor headlines

Matt Looker

10th December 2011

To celebrate this weekend's X Factor final (as in, we're celebrating it finishing), I've gathered together the best/worst X Factor headlines over the course of the competition. After all, headlines are what the show is all about. I think. It certainly isn't about fucking singing.

Despite it being one of the biggest telly events of any given year, we haven't really reported much on the happenings and non-happenings of this year's X Factor. That's partly because we can't be arsed, but mainly because our comprehensive friends over at Digital Spy have got that shit locked down.

There's not much left to say when they have everything covered from Tulisa's bowel movements to how many wanks Louis Walsh has had each week (only three so far in the run-up to the final - he must be feeling nervous).

So, in an effort to look like we are in some way marking the occasion of this weekend's final, here are the 16 most unbelievable X Factor headlines, as reported by Digital Spy.
1. 'X Factor' culture fuelled UK riots, says Iain Duncan Smith
2. 'X Factor' Louis Walsh 'names male cat after Tulisa'
3. Quite a nice picture of Marcus Collins
4. 'X Factor' Janet Devlin: 'I can't stand my voice'
5. 'X Factor' voiceover artist Peter Dickson 'threatened to quit'
6. Marcus Collins: 'I've been offered X Factor hairdresser job'
7. 'X Factor' Little Mix: 'If we win, we'll take our mums on holiday'
8. 'X Factor' Johnny Robinson: 'I'm hunting UFOs with Robbie Williams'
9. Kitty Brucknell poses naked: 'I'm too weird for X Factor'

10. Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos 'X Factor' hug 'was staged'
11. Frankie Cocozza 'lovers' speak out: 'He ripped my tights'
12. Paul Weller: 'Peppa Pig makes more sense than X Factor'
13. 'X Factor' Gary Barlow 'overwhelmed' after joining Twitter
14. Louis Walsh: 'I'm very good in bed'
15. 'X Factor' Kelly Rowland Judges' Houses filming disrupted by jet ski noise
16. 'X Factor' Craig Colton interview: 'The chocolate digestive can't be beaten'

So there we have it: insightful and hard-hitting journalism at its very best. I can't wait to see how they cover Britain's Got Talent next month.
