Christ The Redeemer: 2011's favourite returning character

Rob

13th June 2011

With several movies this year opting for the warmer climes of Rio De Janeiro, with its skimpy beach-wear, jive-talking animals and steep-ass hills The Rock can get some air off in his jeep, Christ The Redeemer is the latest Hollywood darling.

We've hang-glided over the Brazilian city in Rio, smashed it up with Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious 5 and surfed its raging waters in documentary Rio Breaks. Hell, even R-Patz and his moody missus are honeymooning there in Twilight: Breaking Dawn in November. But only one guy has managed to sneak his beak into every movie...

All this attention has made the statue of Christ The Redeemer a highly rated supporting character. With his Jimmy Hill-esque chin, tall stature, 'come give me a hug' arms and countless establishing shots under his robe, allow us to chart his possible progress from character actor to leading man. He'll be on the cover of Vanity Fair any day now.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

The Beaver

Captain America: The First Avenger

Green Lantern

Bridesmaids

If his career keeps going at this rate, he might be picking up a statue himself sooner or later. Arf.
