USEFUL MOVIE LINKS The Internet Movie Database More valuable than the Bible for those who love their movies. Bursting at the seams with reams of information, you name it, it's got it. If it's not on here, you just dreamt it and it never happened. Ain't It Cool The original, and some might say still the best movie geek website out there. It's been going for years on years, but is still worth a regular read. The Talkbacks are retard breeding ground, however. ComingSoon.net More professional than AICN and often gets the real exclusives first. Also features a lot of audio and video content, for all those people who refer to themselves as 'philes'. Movieweb.com A gem of a site, it might be American but they're usually a goldmine if you're looking for high quality screenshots and poster images. Empire Online Seeing as Hotdog doesn't have a website (because it's dead! *Sob*), Empire comes a close second. It's my first port of call for news, they always whack up new trailer links and their reviews are (mostly) spot on. Apple Trailers If there's a new trailer out, you'll find it here first. A nice clean, uncomplicated site with tons of trailers new and old, regularly updated and it caters for rich toffs with broadband and proles with 56k. LOVEFiLM There's a lot of wanky DVD rental sites out there, but this is the best. For £15 a month you can get unlimited DVDs sent to your door (3 at a time) and they give you loads of free months if you make a fuss. CHUD.com Wonderfully named (Cinematic Happenings Under Development), the writing is always guaranteed to be accurate and amusing, and they do great features which I steal my ideas from. Cheers, guys. Play.com You don't need me to tell you how cheap their DVDs are, you already know. Sites like this make it possible for skint people like me to still buy the films they want, and for that, I doff my cap in their direction. The Editing Room Abridged Scripts Not updated nearly as often as it should be, nonetheless the ruthless distillation of pompous movies is about as sharp as movie satire gets. The Star Wars scripts are particularly worth a read. Launching Films About as solid and reliable a list of movie release dates as you're likely to find, probably something to do with the fact that it's the official website of the FIlm Distributor's Association. |
