Most perfect headline/photo juxtaposition of the day
Movie News | Ali Gray | 23rd February 2014
No, of course Transformers 4 is not a kids' movie. It's actually a ponderous, meditative tone poem about the exploration of the self. It just happens to feature a space alien robot truck riding a space alien robot dinosaur while holding a big sword. Directed by Terrence Malick. (via /Film)

Stop shitting on The Matrix, adverts!
Movie News | Ali Gray | 29th January 2014
First Agent Smith was hired to promote General Electric Hospitals, now Morpheus literally sings the praises of KIA cars. What next, Trinity advertising tampons? "When I'm attempting to free the human race from the slavery of what they think is real life, I need to be able to think on my feet. The last thing I want to do is feel unclean... down there." (Morpheus via Empire). -

There's someone missing in the first Guardians Of The Galaxy image
Movie News | Ali Gray | 1st January 2014
Disney have released the first official image from their forthcoming Marvel intergalactic adventure, Guardians Of The Galaxy. We can't help but feel there's someone quite important missing, especially given the obvious Usual Suspects homage. Thankfully it was my New Year's Resolution to do more rubbish Photoshopping, so I made amends. Send the cheque to the usual address, Disney.

Unnecessary reboot news #1753: The Naked Gun
Movie News | Luke Whiston | 13th December 2013
Desperately horrible news from Hollywood today: they're finally so empty of ideas that The Naked Gun is getting a reboot. I mean, some things are just sacred, right? Well, apparently not. Ed Helms is the man stepping over Leslie Nielsen's still-warm corpse. Good luck, Ed. You're going to need it. And yes I know that's a clip from Airplane. And, yes, I know Airplane! has an exclamation mark, but it looks really weird at the end of a sentence. -
Nikki Finke officially beyond parody

Mancunians baffled by Spike Jonze's Her
Movie News | Ed Williamson | 5th December 2013
Mancunians are said to be puzzled by discussion of Spike Jonze's Her. "It looks pretty normal to me," commented one. "He could maybe give it a bit of a comb, but I don't see why everyone's going on about it."
