Arrested Development movie 'stalled'

Bad news for Bluth fans: it looks like the long-awaited Arrested Development movie might remain in Development Hell for a little longer. Come on!
It's a strange situation to be in as a fan. Arrested Development was pretty much the perfect TV sitcom, but it ended far too soon. On the one hand, if creator Mitch Hurwitz can recreate some of that magic, even just for a few hours, it'd be worthwhile. But how many times have we seen a fine legacy besmirched in the quest for 'one last goodbye'? Put your hand down, Dr. Jones.
However, it looks like the point might be moot. Zap2It are reporting that Mitch Hurwitz is considering ditching the idea completely, with an insider source claiming: "He's moving off the idea."
Hurwitz and Bateman always said they wouldn't start work on the AD movie until all of the Bluth clan were on board. Holdout Michael Cera finally relented in February, but sixth months have passed, and still no script has surfaced. Tellingly, Hurwitz has a number of other irons in the fire and the cast are all busy with their own projects. There might never be a 'right time' when everyone is available.
An Arrested Development movie looks increasingly unlikely to come to fruition; perhaps the more time that passed, the more Hurwitz and co realised there was no need for it.
Still, any excuse to chat about Arrested Development is a happy day for us. Let the quoting marathon begin!
