Ali
3rd December 2011
There's a lot just going on in the next few weeks, and I don't just mean my birthday (*cough*JurassicParkonBluray*cough*).
"What's it about?" I hear you ask. Well, dear idiot reader: The Incredible Suit's Cumbersomely Titled Very Good Film And Quiz Night is a film and quiz night with a somewhat cumbersome title. As you've probably figured out by now, it comprises of a showing of Kevin Bacon's Footloose in unforgettable sizzlevision*, either side of which lie a vaguely-themed Footloose quiz and answer session. Yes, it's very much a Bacon sandwich.
According to Neil, who should know as he's running the show, prizes and stuff are on offer, and we've been personally promised a bevvy of Bacon puns. All of this and more means Thursday 8th December is pretty much sorted as far as evening entertainment goes. It's at the Stratford Picturehouse, which is great, not only because it has a Pizza Express downstairs, but because I live right near it. Also it's a lovely cinema.

But wait! Don't just go into hibernation until Christmas! The following week, there's yet another EPOCH-SHATTERING EVENT at the Stratford Picturehouse, this time organised by site mascots Sam and Simon of the Picturehouse Podcast. Did someone say Planes, Trains & Automobiles? Yes, it was me, just then. Pay attention!
With Santa already preparing to shoot his sack down your chimney, what better way to relent to Christmas's tender rogering than to relax in the company of John Hughes, Steve Martin and John Candy, arguably the three funniest men who have ever lived. Seriously, what else are you going to be doing on Thursday 15th December? Going to the first and only screening of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo? What are you, a fucking loser or something? They're podcasting and everything!
Book your tickets here and prepare for a special guest appearance from Ali from TheShiznit.co.uk! (Special guest may or may not weigh 23 stone).
Why anyone would choose to watch a film at the Vue in Westfield over the road, I cannot fathom. Unless getting having your chair kicked and watching films in the company of chattering teenagers and possible sexual perverts is cool now, in which case, fuck these two events, I'll see you there.
* means nothing
