Hulk returning to TV. Ferrigno waits patiently by phone

Do you like the 'Banner' pic above? Heh heh. Hulk humour.

It has been known for sometime now that Guillermo del Toro has been planning to bring back the Incredible Hulk to the small screen. But seeing as the films have generally been pretty underwhelming, everyone just swept it under the rug marked 'yeah, we'll wait and see on that one, yeah?'.

But now the Mexican writer-director-producer-weirdo has given an update on the project:

We turned in the outline to ABC about four weeks ago and then we did a rewrite for ABC on the outline, and now we are lining up the pages.
Sounds very much still in the early stages but it may interest you to know that Marvel Studios have beeing working on this with ABC for several months now and the show is currently being scheduled to air in Autumn 2012. That's just over a year away! Quick, get the green paint and/or tennis balls on sticks!

Which brings us to the next big question: which method will the show opt for:

If it's a choice between crappy-looking pixels and dowsing a meathead in green paint, I'd go for the latter, but I'm sure del Toro knows what he's doing. If it were Ang Lee at the reins, on the other hand, we'd have reason to worry. Don't make it, Ang Lee. We wouldn't like it if you made it, Ang Lee.*

Either way, think of the fantastic comic-book guest star opportunities the show would allow.

*Joke circa 2003.
