Want to know how Angelina Jolie will return for the totally unnecessary sequel to Timur Bekmambetov's insane shoot 'em up Wanted? So do we. Spoilers ahead.
In an exclusive interview with director Bekmambetov, MTV cornered the Russian and demanded to know how he planned to resurrect Angelina Jolie's very dead character of Fox for the studio-mandated sequel.
"If you remember from the first film, we have a recovery room with the baths of wax....We know how to do this, but it's still tough to do, because the bullet is inside her head.
"But there has to be a reason for her to come back... and we know the reason. I think we found the reason for her to come back. We are trying hard... She was kind of... dead."
This sounds like it could be a sequel fail of Highlander 2 proportions. I don't care how 'hyper-real' your movie is, if you shoot someone in the head with a bullet, they die.
In my Wanted review, I said it was so nice to have a big-budget action film that didn't feel like it was conciously kickstarting a franchise. Obviously I didn't have the foresight to realise I was talking out my arse, because of course it was. Why let dead characters stop you from making an inferior product?
Want my solution? Leave Fox to rot. Hire Megan Fox as her sexy twin sister. Make billions. Die happy but alone. Simple.
