Movie news round-up: dark Dredd, action Isaac and Bad Grandpa

After two delicious weeks away from weekend round-up duty, I approached this exciting news round-up with all the zeal of someone who really wanted to go to bed OH SNAP.

JoBlo have the first poster from the forthcoming Judge Dredd reboot, which is just called Dredd, which sounds exactly right. As you can see by this barely-there poster, they're going "darker" for this new Karl Urban version, so much so you'll only be able to make out what's going on by shining a high-powered torch at the screen and squinting.

Chuck star Zachary Levi will replace Josh Dallas as Fandral in Thor 2, after Dallas couldn't get out of his contract with TV show Once Upon A Time. If you're wondering, and I know you are, Fandral was one of the Warriors Three - the one who wasn't the fat one or the Asian one. That one.
Nothing says 'Sunday night pity party' than 25 minutes of B-roll from The Amazing Spider-Man. I'll start you off with the first video below but you'll have to scram over to Slashfilm to watch the rest.

Today's no-brainer: Rob Cohen, the director of The Fast And The Furious And Stealth, is turning Sir Isaac Newton into an action hero. FINALLY. According to Variety, the movie will focus on "part of Newton's life when he served as chief detective and head of the British Mint." No doubt he'll have a sassy black partner and will solve crime with the help of a small robotic owl that sits on his shoulder, why not.

The first set photographs from Iron Man 3 starting filtering in over a week ago and seemed to suggest a character called Iron Patriot - or at least someone wearing his suit - would be in the movie. According to 'insiders', the all-American, stars-and-stripes-bedecked Old Glory Iron Man suit actually belongs to Don Cheadle's character, War Machine. I added a few extra elements to make the pic look even more American.

Pity the poor bastard tasked with writing Warner Bros' new Guinness Book Of World Records movie, because that's totally a thing that's happening. Fun fact: the man who invented the Guinness Book Of Records was called Sir Hugh Beaver, which is The World's Most Amazing Name.

Bad news for any of you looking forward to Marc Forster's adaptation of Max Brooks' World War Z: despite being essentially finished, the movie is undergoing extensive reshoots and will be reshaped by Damon Lindelof, who just added a buttload of question marks to the Prometheus script. Spoiler alert: it turns out the zombies are ambiguous.

Despite it being terrible, Universal are fast-tracking a sequel to Snow White And The Huntsman and have hired Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp to write it. Here's hoping it has dinosaurs in it or something. Dinosaurs and monster trucks and HD porn and winning lottery numbers.

Paramount have registered domain names for what looks like a fourth Jackass movie, subtitled 'Bad Grandpa'. So basically, a feature-length outing for Johnny Knoxville in old man make-up aka the worst sketch in the entire series. I would literally rather watch Steve-O punching himself in the face for two hours, and I am 100% not exaggerating.
Look, it's another Skyfall video blog. (*looks*)

For the last story of the week, I couldn't decide on telling you about Sam Jackson and Abbie Cornish joining Robocop, Green Lantern scribe Michael Goldenberg working on a Wonder Woman movie or Community producers Joe and Anthony Russo being marked as the new directors for Captain America 2. What to do, what to do? I need Damon Lindelof to knock this round-up into shape.
