Movie poster round-up: fairies, families and folk unlike us

Luke

13th May 2012

Sorry this week's poster round-up is a little bit late. I bought Trials Evolution on the Xbox 360, and spent all afternoon playing Trials Evolution on the Xbox 360 and trying to figure out a way to quit my job, play Trials Evolution on the Xbox 360 all day and still pay my mortgage. Maybe if I say Trials Evolution on the Xbox 360 a few more times Microsoft will start paying me. It's quite good, you should get it.

I was going to make a joke about the tagline on this poster for A Common Man, and some sort of explosive meltdown on the Underground during the Olympics (it worked in my head, alright). Then I read the plot synopsis and realised in these days of terrorism and cyber-snooping that would probably be enough evidence to have me extradited to Guantanamo Bay forever.

Did... did someone at Disney sneak a subtle '2 girls 1 cup' reference into this poster for Tinker Bell movie Secret Of The Wings?

I thought the character posters for The Expendables 2 had bottomed-out with Diddy Hemsworth, but they just keep on coming and I honestly have no idea who this Adkins chap is. Does he staff Sylvester Stallone's personal catering truck?

The only people like the people in People Like Us are actual, genuine Hollywood movie stars. Just look at that ridiculously good-looking cast and also Jon Favreau.

Commenter 'Lucas' over at IMP Awards summed up this latest poster for Snow White & The Huntsman best with the following statement:

"
"
horrible... many arts so creative, like the first one, and now, this obviously thing... -_-
Exactly.

Are Kathleen Turner's shameful family in The Perfect Family meant to be spider-people or something? Because frankly I can see many upsides to that: 1) ability to walk on walls and ceilings, 2) as much silk as you can carry. Oh wait, only two upsides, everything else terrifying.

This laughably bad poster for G.I. Joe: Retaliation looks like the end result of a child's first play with Paint Shop Pro. Which, funnily enough, sets the perfect level of expectation for the film itself.

And finally; we can't stop Tyler Perry making movies like Madea's Witness Protection (seriously they make bucketloads of cash), but at least we can invent ways to make them seem further away.
