Say "good day" to the Die Hard 5 title and release date

Valentine's Day 2013 is A Good Day To Die Hard, apparently. I can think of worse ways to go.

Har har, yes we've all had a good laugh at the crapness of the new Die Hard title - but was anyone really that surprised? Apart from the original Die Hard (which, when you think about it is just a couple of manly-sounding words chucked together), the series has always had knowingly naff subtitles:

What you should be focusing your misguided rage on is the announcement that John McClane's daughter has had a sex change, and is now going by the name of Jack McClane Jr. Either that or they've introduced a long-lost son not mentioned in any of the previous movies (please feel free to correct that if I'm wrong). Because the old/young guy buddy act worked so well in the last film...

So look forward to the coming months of eye-rolling as they announce a string of potential candidates for the role, each more ill-fitting than the last. Until they just pick Channing Tatum because he's the cheapest and won't encroach on Bruce Willis' star power.

P.S. I still maintain Die Hard 2 is a terrible film.
UPDATE! Turns out John McClane's son is mentioned in the earlier films, and you even get to see him in a family photo:
