ThunderKittens

Did you know there are 130 episodes of ThunderCats? 130 episodes of them defeating Mumm-Ra, eating oddly smooth chicken legs and standing about laughing at Snarf.
That is to say there were 130. Thanks to Warner Bros and Cartoon Network, that's all about to change.

I can see the developer's meeting now:
"Everyone loves childhood memories, right?"
"Yeah!"
"What do people like even more than childhood memories?"
"Unimaginative cash-ins on their nostalgia?!"
"Yeah! Like what?"
"Um... Well, with the much adored Star Wars, they took childhood memories then added some prequels. That went really well!"
"Are you sure? Alright then, let's do that!"

So they did. The first episode will be shown on Cartoon Network in the US on 29th July, but here's the teaser trailer they released over the weekend.

Where the hell is Panthro? Probably out racing the ThunderTank for pink slips
So it's set on Thundera, and they're all hip young things... still... I don't like it.

It looks the same, but they're all too hairy, and the ages are all out of whack. If you recall, in the original trip from Thundera to Third Earth, Lion-o's suspended animation chamber was broken so he actually aged slowly to become a boykitten trapped in a ManCat's body. Whereas all the other Cats were older than him, and sent as his guardians. You remember, right? So Cheetarah and Tygra are all too young. And why's Mumm-Ra in it - awesome as he looks, he's from Third Earth.

Surprisingly, they're all more dressed than they were in the 80s. The leotards on the fellas are positively indecent.

Can cats get camel toes?
If you ask me, they should have just rerun the original series. So much for sight beyond sight, Cartoon Network.
