US Spaced remake is fucking weird

I don't normally bother with telly stuff on here, basically because I don't watch it. But this showreel for the pilot of the US remake of Spaced is just too atrocious not to post.
If you'll remember a while back, there was a nerd uprising when Warner Bros decided they were going to remake the awesome British sitcom Spaced, by soon-to-be movie genius Edgar Wright. The only problem was, neither Wright, nor the cast - including Simon Pegg, Jessica Stevenson and Nick Frost - were ever consulted. It was a comedic smash and grab.
Eventually, after a Pegg-fronted campaign of general whinging and finger-wagging, the US Spaced show was aborted like the mutant baby it was. But something survived.
Simon Pegg has somehow managed to unearth a number of clips from the pilot on YouTube, and it's every bit as bad as you might expect. Whether that's because of the complete lack of comic timing the original had in spades, or because you're watching the exact same jokes mangled by a cast of talentless halfwits, is not for me to say. Hint: it's both.
What I will say, though, is that while this Spaced remake does indeed appear to be terrible, it's worth giving these things a chance. No one gave the American version of The Office an icecube's chance in Hell, but once it got past the awkward initial stage of regurgitating the UK version's gags, it blossomed into a fine show of its own accord. Make up your own mind and watch below.
