  • Inferno

    Movie Review | Ed Williamson | 18th October 2016

By now you'll have heard that Inferno is awful, not that your hopes were high, and you don't need me to confirm it. Maybe the books make terrible source material, but come on, it's Hanks and Howard: how bad could it be? Well, not as bad as The Da Vinci Code, to be fair, but still pretty darned bad.

  • Ain't Them Bodies Saints

    Movie Review | Ed Williamson | 5th September 2013

Well, ain't them? No, I don't understand the title any more than you do. But over the few weeks since I saw this, the advertising for Alpha Papa has influenced me so much that every time I think of it, I imagine Alan Partridge saying the title as an expression of weary frustration. "Guhhhhh, ain't them bodies saints?" But Partridgian asides aside, here's an independent film that paints an engaging picture of love torn asunder on a Southern-fried canvas. Cashback.

  • The Mechanic

    Movie Review | Rob | 2nd February 2011

Who wants to play a game? It's called 'I Spy... A Stath Cliche'. It's easy and can be played during any Jason Statham movie. Stath takes his shirt off: check. Stath has sex:check. Stath does that stone-faced scowl: got it! Stath has gun fights and remorseless punch-ups: tick! Finally, Stath blows some shit up: check and check. There's no need to get your Transporter box-set out, because you can try it with The Mechanic - the latest addition to Jason Statham's one-man army sub-genre.

  • Pandorum

    Movie Review | Steven | 1st October 2009

Earth has depleted its resources and become over populated. The answer to this problem? Neuter the world's idiots? Nope - in Pandorum, the solution is to send a large group of cryogenically-frozen men and women into space, hurtling towards a newly found plant that can sustain life. Far less exciting an option, if you ask me.
