Proof you can't fry an Egg on a car bonnet
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 16th December 2013
Otherwise his feet would be burning. Ignore the fact that it's the car boot and not the bonnet, and take a moment to consider how many levels this joke works on. I counted six.

Bloody hell, The bloody Following's coming bloody back
TV Video | Ed Williamson | 23rd October 2013
This 'new face of evil' you mentioned. Don't suppose there's a chance it's the EXACT SAME face of evil from the last time around, is there? Please don't let me live to see January. -
Dexter: series finale – 'Remember the Monsters?'
TV Review | Ed Williamson | 4th October 2013
According to the internet, every series finale is either the greatest thing in recorded history or the worst thing ever visited on the commenter's eyes, undoing all the good work that came before it. Consensus on Dexter's swansong seems to be the latter. But I'm here to tell you that finales aren't as important as all that, and that this one, while flawed, was better than everyone seems to think. And you should take note, because like everyone else's on the internet, my opinion matters gravely. (Spoilers follow.)

The five worst things about Dexter
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 24th September 2013
My relationship with Dexter is much like that of the protagonist with his girlfriend in the Smokey Robinson song "You've Really Got a Hold on Me". She mistreats him constantly, but he keeps coming back for more without really knowing why. I watch Dexter every week, cringing at various aspects of the writing, then look forward to the next episode. I'm an idiot.

The brutality of Mark Strong
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 18th September 2013
I haven't seen Low Winter Sun yet, but if this is anything to go by, it looks like pretty intense stuff. Witness Mark Strong, a tough cop hardened by a life seeing horror after horror on the streets of Detroit, giving a man a wet willie till he coughs up the information he wants. Next week: Mark nicks a guy's He-Man lunchbox and throws it on the roof of the science block to teach him a lesson.

White House Down
Movie Review | Rob, Matt | 6th September 2013
What are the chances of two 'Die Hard In The White House' films getting released just months apart? And it's always such a shame when this kind of thing happens because, inevitably, whichever film gets released second is the one that suffers. In fact, to Average Joe Cinema, it might even look like this film has COPIED Olympus Has Fallen. Well, let me be the first to assure you that this kind of laziness just doesn't happen in the entertainment industry.

Pepsi: the choice of a new generation of psychopaths
TV Video | Ed Williamson | 28th July 2013
Great bit of product placement in tonight's Dexter. How much do you reckon it costs to have your product used by a violent psychopath on a popular TV show? -
Walking Dead season four: basically just Porridge with zombies
TV Video | Ed Williamson | 22nd July 2013
Trailer here. Spoiler alert: they're still in the bloody prison, and Grouty wants Egg to distract Mr Barrowclough so Ives can smuggle a load of butter out of the kitchen.

I can't watch that 'Electro' teaser without thinking of this
Movie Feature | Matt | 20th July 2013
This might be Spider-Man's least fearsome enemy yet (original Amazing Spider-Man 2 teaser here). -
Wilson beats cancer, fights aliens
TV News | Ed Williamson | 21st June 2013
Robert Sean Leonard is now on Falling Skies. If TV dreams came true, this would be in the same timeline as House, and he would've beaten cancer and now keeps House's head cryogenically frozen in a jar, hoping to persuade the aliens to reanimate it. It would continue to make wisecracks at him and mess up any dates he went on, obviously.
