The Following: season one, episodes 1–8
TV Review | Ed Williamson | 19th March 2013
I like Kevin Bacon a lot. He's the sort of actor who should really be able to elevate a TV project. And the prospect of him leading a major network drama is a great one. But The Following? It's an absolute mess.

Calling it: this guy in The Following is in the cult
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 25th February 2013
Far too obvious. Wrote his thesis on Carroll, hero-worships Hardy, etc etc. NEXT!

French trailer for Dexter season seven, because foreigners
TV Video | Ed Williamson | 21st February 2013
Le Dexter! Il est un tueur en série! Mais vous l'aimez parce que son code moral est complexe! Septième saison commence le dimanche. (*Gallic shrug emoticon*) -
Billy Brown should probably just give up law enforcement
TV Video | Ed Williamson | 7th February 2013
He has rubbish luck with it. Can't seem to stay alive five minutes. -
Bit concerned James Purefoy's going to derail The Following
TV Video | Ed Williamson | 21st January 2013
I'm looking forward to The Following because of my interests in Kevin Bacon, serial killers and watching things move on screens. But I'm a bit worried James Purefoy's going to ruin the whole thing with his whole "Oooh, I'm really evil and enigmatic" shtick. He's like a guy from a Nescafé Gold Blend advert who went downstairs to borrow coffee but then ended up wearing the woman's skin. -

Django Unchained
Movie Review | Ed Williamson | 14th January 2013
I've seen Django Unchained twice now. After the second viewing, I looked back through the notes I'd made after the first, and realised that most of them were now useless. As with a lot of Quentin Tarantino's work, it takes more than one watch to fully form an opinion, but in this case I'd changed my mind almost entirely. I read back through them, crossing out complaints regarding its lengthy, meandering scenes and its jarring refusal to end at its obvious conclusion. But I understand these things better now for what they are: exercises in character development that make this one of its author's richest and most engaging works.

With added sideboob, because serial killing can be sexy too.

It's distracting how much it looks like Matthew Fox is taking a shit here
Movie News | Ali | 28th November 2012
Alex Cross? More like... Alex... Toilet. Something about toilets.

The Following: everyone's Bacon number to lower dramatically
TV Video | Ed Williamson | 14th November 2012
Yep, Kevin Bacon's doing telly. Say, three new actors per episode, 23 episodes a year: by my calculations if it runs for more than five seasons even most people who work in Millets will have a Bacon number of 2.
