Tintin trailer is full of win-win

New action-packed trailer for The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn shows off some of the exotic locales Tintin & Co. will be visiting; makes the uncanny valley look like a ditch full of old mattresses.

I'm more anxious than anyone on Earth about the new Tintin movie. When I was little I read the books inside out many times, and watched the series religiously - I basically wanted to be Tintin. So with the 26th October U.K. release date fast approaching (23rd December in the States - ha, suck it!) it's about time Spielberg and Jackson whet our appetites with something a little bit more exciting than footage of the slightly dead-eyed character models creeping about with their vacant stares.

And treat us they have, in the form of the following trailer that gives me hope for the CGI path Jackberg have chosen. Initially I was skeptical about the motion capture. With such a talented cast it didn't make sense to bottle their performances, especially with the creative talent on hand. But seeing how fluid and consistent the end result is - something green screen effects often fail to capture - I can live with the odd look in the eyes. They can always patch it for the DVD release.

Bonus Quiz! This time last year I was wandering around the back streets of Brussels, looking for the Belgian Comic Strip Center. It's actually pretty well hidden - down some stairs, right opposite another museum dedicated to a Belgian artist guy whose name I can't recall, sorry pal. The point is I found this and just had to share it with you in the form of a mini quiz. See if you can guess which of the disguises below Tintin won't be using in The Secret Of The Unicorn:
