He's going to be a ghost.
There, spoiler out the way. Up until this point, we hadn't even received confirmation that Murray was definitely going to appear in the film at all, but now here's what he told the Sunday Mail (of all publications):
"
"
"I'll come back in Ghostbusters III only if I get to be a ghost. I said to them, 'I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.' So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film."But am I the only one who thinks this is a shame? It'll be great for Murray to be involved in the film seeing as he has always been reluctant before now, but I think I'd rather he was dead set against the idea than just dead.
I guess, even if Murray gets to play the comedy ghost in a few short scenes, it still doesn't quite seem like the happy ending that we would have always wanted for Venkman. Mad Dan Akroyd had better have some great writing up his crazy sleeves to make up for this.
