Scarlett Johansson's pleather-clad vixen is looking more and more likely to star in her own spin-off movie, post-Avengers. Also, she's totally checking me out. No, don't look a- dammit. Now I'll have to go over.
Marvel are in the business of movies now, where even the slightest sliver of something considered halfway interesting is trumpeted by the internet hype machine and presented on a velvet cushion of news. So, for your delectation, a quote from uber-producer Kevin Feige at the Iron Man 2 DVD press conference, which appears to confirm that Scarlett Johansson's SHIELD operative Black Widow is indeed going to star in her own movie.

"We've already started discussions with Scarlett about the idea... but The Avengers comes first."In all fairness, Marvel could probably release a spin-off movie about the Mexican chick who washes Iron Man's dishes and it'd still make a quarter of a bajillion dollars, so it's not exactly surprising that they'd be keen to pin Scarlett down - gently and with her consent - for a standalone movie.
On the other hand, every single female superhero movie ever made has been terrible, without exception. Catwoman, Aeon Flex and Elektra were all so terrible, I had to visit that place from Eternal Sunshine to have them systematically removed from my brain. Wait a minute... goddammit. I want my money back.
