Sherlock Holmes 2 is being fast-tracked to start filming in June, and Transformers 3 will begin shooting in May despite not having a finished script yet. Because we all know how much better blockbuster sequels are when they're rushed.
Capitalising on the success of the Holmes-Watson bromoeroticism that's still simmering away in cinemas, Warner Bros has decided to start things rolling with Holmes 2 already.
It was reported very recently that Robert Downey Jr had to drop out of Cowboys & Aliens (Jon Favreau's next planned movie, post-Iron Man 2) due to a busy work schedule. Now we know why, Downey Jr, you sly fox.
Although at least the bare-knuckle boxing detective already has a second script lined up for him; Michael Bay reportedly has much of a grasp on the plot going into Transformers 3 as audiences had coming out of Transformers 2.
Not only that, but it still hasn't been decided whether the threequel should be filmed in 3D. Apparently Michael Bay isn't a fan of the technology, but then the studio has the best reason in the world: it can just add a 'D' to the end of 'Transformers 3'. Sorry, Bay - shrewd marketing beats personal preference every time.
Don't worry about the lack of script either; all you need to know is: Shia acts goofy, explosions, Megan Fox bends over inappropriately, robots fight, explosions, landmarks get destroyed, Megan Fox bends over inappropriately, roll credits. The perfect formula for yet another money-making shambles.
