"Hey, you sunk my career!"
Liam Neeson has joined the cast of director Peter Berg's upcoming adaptation of Hasbro's Battleship board game (now there's a sentence I never thought I'd read, much less type). He joins Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna, and Alexander Skarsgard. I hope he plays a pirate. Tremble before Skarrrrrrsgard!
The film is only tangentially related to the board game, and will feature yet another generic struggle between the forces of Earth (which will most likely be represented by the American military; USA! USA!) and marauding alien invaders, who have come here to do... something. Probably blow up lots of stuff for vague reasons.
Seriously, does it really matter? Haven't we seen this story a hundred times before? Anyway, Neeson will play the commander of the titular vessel, Admiral Shane, and will probably utter the signature line at some point, probably while grimacing. The film is scheduled to hit the high seas sometime in 2012.
