The creative team behind the Paranormal Activity franchise is bringing the found footage gimmick to the Amazon with their next project. They just better pray they don't run into the kids from Cannibal Holocaust along the way.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Oren Peli (director of Paranormal Activity and the upcoming Area 51) will be teaming up with Michael Perry (writer of Paranormal Activity 2) for an upcoming television series called The River. The project is being developed for ABC and DreamWorks TV.
The series will use the found footage format to tell the story of a man who gets lost in the Amazon and documents his ordeal, which will no doubt feature all manner of supernatural phenomena. At this time, there is no word on when the series will premiere, but we'll be sure to keep you updated on this project as information becomes available.
There is also no word on whether or not the show will feature the phenomenal boobies of Paranormal Activity star Katie Featherston, but we'll try and keep an eye out for them.
