Robert Carlyle would do Porno

Titter, tee hee, guffaw, etc. What Robert Carlyle means is that he's willing to make the sequel to Trainspotting with Danny Boyle. Sorry for going all The Sun on you there.
Though it looks unlikely to ever come to fruition with Ewan McGregor in the cast, the sequel to Trainspotting may well pull out of the station with at least some of the original cast on board.
Irvine Welsh's Porno, set a whole ten years after Trainspotting and detailing the gang's attempts to get rich off a grot flick, doesn't exactly lend itself to a nice friendly 12A rating and a "From the director of Slumdog Millionaire" poster boast. A shame, because it's a cracking read.
Francis Begbie himself, Robert Carlyle, has revealed to the BBC that he'd be up for dipping his wick should director Boyle finish the script he's been touting. Not surprising really, given that he's just joined the cast of Stargate. The doss cunt.
"For me personally, I would jump through hoops of fire backwards for Danny Boyle. I would do Porno tomorrow for nothing.
[Begbie]'s the only character I would ever want to revisit because I do believe that there's an awful lot more mileage there.
"I think there is lots more entertainment to be had from that group of people so I would be up for it, and I know Danny seems to be edging more towards it. After his success at the Oscars, he should be able to pretty much do as he wants."
The only hold-out is apparently Ewan McGregor, who either feels Porno isn't sufficiently strong enough to sustain a filmic narrative, or he's still being a big Scottish baby because former best bud Danny Boyle didn't take him away on his Thai vacation for The Beach. Hmm, which could it be?
