Sam Worthington to play Dracula?

With Avatar now officially the highest grossing film of all time, Sam Worthington can now look around him, say "My work here is done" and move on to making the same kind of movies as everyone else. Vampire movies.
Rumour has it that Worthington has signed on to star in Alex Proyas' Dracula: Year Zero, a film which concentrates on the realistic back story of the famous caped Transylvanian terror that we all know and laugh at.
Worthington would be playing Vlad the Impaler, the bloodthirsty ruler of Romania whose gradual descent into murder and sin paved the way for vampiric legend. This will be best depicted by Jake Sully shouting a lot and then looking 'conflicted'.
So then: a Dracula film without the fangs and bloodsucking? There's a good chance this could be the original genre twist that will act as a full stop to the trend that Twilight started. Or it could be the only possible way to make yet another vampire movie seem even less interesting.
And is it me or does Dracula: Year Zero sound like it's a film about Teenage Dracs as he negotiates his desire for human blood around his homework and girlfriend troubles? Let's hope it's just a working title.
Personally, I'd like to see Proyas recreate Hammer Horror movie magic - a clap of thunder, a flash of lightning and Worthington, wringing his hands and laughing: "Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!" Exactly like James Cameron is doing now, on top of a giant pile of money.
