Welcome To The Punch
Movie Review | Matt | 11th March 2013
At the press screening that I attended for this film, writer-director Eran Creevy gave a short introduction in which he outlined his main objective: to create a stylish US action thriller, but set in London. The kind of film that we just don’t see made on our home turf – glossy and sleek instead of gloomy and bleak. But is that a valid goal? To swap out stark realism in favour of polished spectacle? The answer of course is: "Shut up already and give me all of your cinema tickets".

What to watch? Sunday night drama
TV Feature | Kirsty | 10th October 2010
To paraphrase Churchill; never has so much been given to so many by so few. Of course I'm not talking about the RAF (although, thanks lads), I'm talking about BBC, ITV and Sky. Because to my warped tellymind, Sunday night drama scheduling is like the war effort. Oh yes.

Nowhere Boy
Movie Review | Matt | 26th December 2009
The iconic opening chord of A Hard Day's Night is one of the most recognisable introductions to any song ever recorded. It's a one-of-a-kind, messy clash that is an audacious start to an otherwise well-loved melody, and, fittingly, it's the first thing we hear in this portrayal of John Lennon's early troublesome youth.
