This Is The End
Movie Review | Ed Williamson | 24th June 2013
Here's my micro-version of The Superman Project: I had no idea This Is The End existed until I got an email about the screening, and went in cold. Where my experience differs is that Ali did it deliberately; it only happened to me because my finger is laughably far from the pulse. I'd recommend it as a way to view comedy films if this one's anything to go by, but I don't want to hang its entire success on my own lame grasp of the Zeitgeist. This Is The End quickly makes you forget its self-indulgent premise and wins you over by virtue of simply being very, very funny.

Goon
Movie Review | Rob | 2nd January 2012
Ice hockey sits pretty atop my 'If I was an American high-schooler, I'd definitely think about playing it' list. Unfortunately, Hollywood doesn't appear to share my enthusiasm for needless icy bloodlust. There have been plenty of American football, baseball and basketball movies, but when it comes to ice hockey, what do we have? Slap Shot? That's 35 years old. The Mighty Ducks? Pfft, Goon would smash its teeth in and down a beer in celebration.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Movie Review | Rob | 18th August 2010
18th Century poetry isn't usually the biggest fountain of ideas when it comes to full-on, bold, effects-driven summer blockbusters. But when has logic stood in the way of uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer? After all, this is the man who turned a crappy theme park ride into the billion dollar Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise and made Prince Of Persia a successful... er... yeah... (*awkward pause*).

She's Out Of My League
Movie Review | Rob | 10th June 2010
Please, stop me if you've heard all this before. An average guy meets an attractive woman, to the utter jealously of his buddies. However, because they love him, they want to help him and we as the audience feel we can relate to at least one of the core characters.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice trailer: Nicolas Cage less crazy
Movie Trailer | Matt | 9th December 2009
Nic Cage does magic! It's like some kind of weird-but-wonderful crazy-assed Paul Daniels. Watch the trailer after the jump. You'll like it... not a lot, but you'll like it.

Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist
Movie Review | Ali | 1st February 2009
The danger with 'gig movies' - films in which fresh-faced dudes convene to rock out to their favourite band - is that they do tend to have a suspicious odour of 'hipster douche' about them. Take Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist, for example. It has a terribly wanky title, a young cast who wouldn't know real rock and roll if th...
