Man Of Steel
Movie Review | Ali | 14th June 2013
Wow. That was my first reaction upon exiting Man Of Steel. Not necessarily 'Wow' in the sense that I had been overly impressed, but 'Wow' like I had been totally exhausted by the experience and felt so light-headed my brain couldn't quite process words with more than one syllable. Now I've had time for my synapses to cool, I can downgrade 'Wow' to 'Huh': though Man Of Steel is epic in the truest sense of the word, it pummels you so hard with its epicness that you don't have the time or the spatial awareness to notice its flaws. Maybe it's the fact I saw it cold, purposefully not having watched any trailers or promotional material beforehand, but flying blind made for an interesting experience – and dare I say, I perhaps enjoyed it more than others might due to that same lack of preconceptions.

Movie Feature | Matt | 31st May 2013
Because, let's face it – comic-book fans will only be happy if they can spot unnecessary nods and homages in the film to prove that they can appreciate it on a much better level than your average cinema-going shitmuncher.

The Superman Project
Movie Feature | Ali | 8th August 2011
You may or may not have seen the first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman from The Man Of Steel this week. Here it is. I won't be looking at it, or anything-else Superman-related for that matter, until its release in 2013, as part of a self-enforced Kryptonian diet – an experiment to experience a blockbuster knowing as little about it as possible.

Sucker Punch
Movie Review | Ali | 25th March 2011
Warning: this is going to be one of those reviews where I basically spend a thousand words completely picking holes in the film, only to give it three stars anyway - feel free to knock off a star if you're not easily impressed by shiny things (I am shallow and a horrible person). It says a lot about Sucker Punch that it can have such hugely obvious flaws and still remain enjoyable for the most part - if it wasn't executed with such panache it would probably qualify as one of the dumbest movies of 2011.

46 seconds of Sucker Punch isn't a bad way to spend a minute
Movie Trailer | Ali | 24th November 2010
Got 60 seconds to spare while you're boiling the kettle? You could do worse than watch these five mini-trailers for Sucker Punch, plus you'll have 14 seconds spare to clean yourself up afterwards.

Even the Jedi would crave this trailer for Sucker Punch
Movie Trailer | Luke | 7th November 2010
After hanging tough with the men in 300, watching the Watchmen in Watchmen and mucking out The Owls of Ga'Hoole, you'd think Zack Snyder would be taking things easy...
